An American X-Factor contestant has dropped his pants during his audition, showing the audience his XXX factor before he was kicked out of the building.

Geo Goldley was performing his original song called "I'm a Stud" when midway through, he dropped the pants of his sky-blue, velvet tracksuit to reveal he was not wearing underwear.

He jumped around singing his song, ignoring the boos of the crowd. Nicole Scherzinger shrieked. Simon Cowell sat in stunned horror. L.A. Reid looked confused.

Taliban gunmen armed with suicide vests and heavy weaponry have launched co-ordinated attacks in the Afghan capital Kabul, targeting NATO's headquarters, the US embassy, and the Afghan intelligence agency.

Heavy gunfire continued to be heard late into the night on Tuesday as Afghan forces battled to clear a building in the city's diplomatic quarter which had been taken over by heavily armed fighters. Rockets have reportedly been fired at the US and other embassies in the area.

At least four policemen and two civilians have been killed and 18 others injured, according to police and hopsital sources.

Nearly 200 people have died after a ferry travelling from Zanzibar to Pemba island off the East African country of Tanzania capsized overnight, police said. A government spokesman said 620 survivors had been rescued. Three days of mourning have been declared.

The boat, overloaded with cargo and carrying more passengers than registered for the trip, hit strong winds and waves and capsized in the Indian Ocean, the officials said.
